Tessenderlo Kerley International builds second Thio-Sul® plant in Europe

Tessenderlo Kerley International, a business unit of the Tessenderlo Group, will build a new liquid fertiliser plant in Western Europe.

Once the necessary permits and approvals have been obtained, construction will begin on a Thio-Sul® (ammonium thiosulphate) manufacturing plant at the Chemelot site in Geleen (the Netherlands). The plant is expected to start production in the second quarter of 2023.

The Geleen plant will be TKInt's second Thio-Sul® plant in Europe. In September 2017, TKInt successfully started production of Thio-Sul® at its liquid fertiliser plant in Rouen (France). This marked a new milestone in the history of the Tessenderlo Group, as it was the group's first Thio-Sul® plant located outside the United States. Thio-Sul® liquid fertiliser (ammonium thiosulphate) is used in large-scale crops, as well as in arboriculture and horticultural crops.
