Surround provides shade-like protection that supports higher yields and more marketable fruits and vegetables.

Surround helps reduce damage from sunburn and heat stress by forming a film of calcined kaolin on plant surfaces that blocks ultraviolet and infrared radiation. This protective “shade” keeps plant canopies cooler, allowing crops to maintain photosynthesis under high-light and high-heat conditions.

Furthermore, carefully timed applications can also suppress certain insect activity, which may reduce the need for additional conventional insecticides.

In addition, Surround is certified for use in organic production systems in both the USA and in Europe.
